We Could ALL Use an Artsy Nanny

August 27th, 2007 by pattie

Artsy Nannnies
Hey, you know the juggling act. Kid is home from daycare sick. Big client meeting today. Or maybe you have a doctor’s appointment or something else that requires you to be out but your kids are in. Grandma’s at her salsa dance class. Husband’s doing that four-day-a-week-in-Cleveland commute that sounded like such a good idea four months ago. You need help. You’d think your criteria would include experienced, responsible, CPR-certified, things like that. But here’s an interesting marketing strategy. I found a company in Vegas that’s banking on you saying, “Ya’ know, I’d really like someone artsy.”

Yep. No kidding. Artsy Nannies sends nannies to your house who do art projects with your kids. Can you request they paint the living room? Maybe refinish the deck? Now we’re multitasking.

Bring it Back!

Bring It Back
Got 13 seconds? You have just enough time for a golf break. I had a particularly fun time replaying this over and over until I could say “Bring it back” in perfect sync with the voice on the video. (Should I be getting out more?)

Stop. And Go.

Stop N Go Auto Registration, El Cajon, CA
Now, this is a well-designed building. Bright and cheery. A nice little overhang to protect customers from the elements. Clear signage. Comfortable chairs. And a convenient sliding window for quick service. Add fresh, hand-churned gelato and I’m yours for life.

Doorknob Doctor

August 17th, 2007 by pattie

doorknobSo someone who goes by ATL2LAX wrote in a review of Dr. Tate, a Norcross, GA OB-GYN, that he is NOT a doorknob doctor. “…you know, the type who only asks you if you have any concerns or questions on the way out the door.” I like that–Doorknob Doctor. Reminds me of an article I read that said that if you sit down while talking to someone, he or she will perceive the time you spent together as being longer and of better quality than if you stay standing up. So every time I talk with anyone anymore, I sit down. People either think I’m incredible attentive to them or that I’m a lazy load.

Give a try this weekend and let us know what happens!

Scrappy do!

Out of the hundreds (okay, dozens) of videos submitted to Kudzu, this one has to be my favorite so far. It’s well made, funny, has a great soundtrack…judge for yourself.
